Time for the annual Top Five recipients of H1B visas list! 1) Infosys Technologies (4,559), 2)Wipro (2,678),3)Satyam Computer Services (1,917),4)Tata Consultancy Services (1,539) and 5)Microsoft (1,037).The top five account for 18% of all visas allocated under the HB1 program whose stated intent is to allow US employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in speciality occupations.Parsing words I suspect you could say Infosys, Wipro, Satyam and Tata are “employers” in the United States. My question is this: why is it that year after year foreign headquartered companies top this list? Does it suggest American based employers are finding competent tech skills here in America?
