As part of a 2013 antitrust settlement with eBook publishers, Amazon today issued credits to Kindle customers that can be used to purchased eBooks through March 2015. Well, that was a nice way to start Tuesday; I just received a $25 credit from Amazon.com related to Kindle books I purchased in the past, as part of its 2013 legal settlement with a handful of publishers. If you’re a Kindle customer, you might want to check your inbox or your Amazon account — the credit is apparently automatically applied. In September, Amazon notified customers that they should expect a settlement credit, but that was the last I heard about it. Until this morning. The amount of your credit will vary based on the number of books you purchased and their specific publishers. But if you regularly buy Kindle eBooks, there’s a good chance you’ll receive a credit. I just got the notification at 7:33am ET this morning, but according to my account, it was applied two weeks ago on March 11. And it’s apparently valid through March 2015.
