IT industry organization CompTIA is now offering a brand new IT certification for mobile device administrators.

Today, CompTIA, an IT industry non-profit, released its second mobility-related IT skills certification in as many months. The new “Mobility+” certification is for the “design, delivery and management of mobile technology.” And it’s suited for mobility architects, mobility engineers, network administrators and security administrators. (CompTIA’s related ‘Mobile App Security+” certification, which is for app developers, was announced last month.)

The latest “certification is best suited for individuals who are CompTIA Network+ certified or have equivalent working knowledge; and have at least 18 months of work experience in the administration of mobile devices in the enterprise,” according to an associated press release.

Both certifications are designed to help IT workers demonstrate their expertise in various mobile technologies and mobile management systems, and help differentiate themselves in today’s crowded IT market.

CompTIA posted a few sample questions to give potential candidates an idea of typical exam subject matter. You can find them listed here. (I got the first three of the four questions right. I admit, I’m not an IT professional, so three out of four isn’t bad. I’m not sure what that says about the difficulty of the sample questions…)

Complete Mobility+ exam objectives can be found on CompTIA’s website. And the organization also offers related courseware and training, both of which are available via the CompTIA Marketplace.
