Appointments include JPMorgan Chase, JC Penney, and SAP

Dana Deasy will join JPMorgan Chase & Co. this December as CIO. Deasy previously was appointed CIO at BP Plc. in 2007 and prior to that was the CIO at General Motors Co.’s North America unit. Deasy replaces Guy Chiarello, who left the company earlier this year to become President at First Data Corp.

J.C. Penney Co. promoted its former SVP of Business Solutions, Scott Laverty

to CIO.  According to the Wall Street Journal,  “J.C. Penney Co.’s decision to fill its top IT job from within, instead of with a Silicon Valley insider, hints at the company’s wish to return to what it sees as retail fundamentals.” J.C. Penny’s former CIO, Kristin Blum, left the company in June.

SAP America promoted 18-year veteran Bjorn Goerke as CIO and the head of the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud organization. Goerke reports directly to Gerhard Oswald, an SAP AG executive board member, and replaced Oliver Bussman, who left the company earlier this year.

Former Sysco Corporation CIO, Twila Day, joined Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting as a Managing Director in the Houston office. Day brings more than 25 years of experience leveraging IT to create competitive advantages for businesses.  While at Sysco, she led IT strategic planning efforts for over 10 years. Day currently holds leadership positions on the boards of directors of Women and Foodservice Forum and Genesys Works Houston.

David A. Chandler joined PMA Companies, a risk management solutions provider, as CIO. Chandler reports directly to John Santulli III, Executive Vice President, Risk Services and Sales. Before he joined PMA companies, Chandler was VP of IS for Key Risk, a workers’ compensation insurer and third-party claims administrator.

Brocade Communications, a networking and storage solutions provider headquartered in San Jose, appointed Ari Bose to CIO. Previously, Bose held CIO-level positions at various communication and networking companies such as Polycomm, UTStarcomm, and 3Com.

Ericsson Group hired Anders Thulin as SVP Business Excellence and CIO. Prior, Thulin gained more than 20 years of experience in high-tech, IT and telecom at MckInsey & Company. Thulin reports to Hans Vestberg, President and CEO.
