Greg Buckland joins LeasePlan USA from ThyssenKruss, where he was most recently vice president of IT in the U.S. In his new role, Buckland will oversee all of LeasePlan USA’s IT functions, as well as ensure delivery of all IT services supporting the business requirements of internal and external clients in the U.S., Brazil, Canada, India and Mexico.

Buckland has a BS degree in electronic engineering from Bob Jones University.

Swamy Kocherlakota named CIO with S&P Global

Swamy Kocherlakota was promoted from head of global infrastructure and enterprise transformation to global CIO for S&P Global. He was previously senior vice president, global head of infrastructure and operations for Visa, as well as global head of infrastructure architecture and engineering with Bank of New York Mellon.

In his new role, Kocherlakota will continue S&P Global’s digital transformation of the last few years. He holds MS and PhD degrees in computer science from Michigan State University and is a WSTA board member.

Justin Wright appointed CIO at Arcadis

Justin Wright

Justin Wright was promoted to CIO for North and Latin America at Arcadis, with digitalization as a priority mandate for the company. He was most recently president, Buildings Business Line North America, a role that he assumed in July 2015. Wright joined Arcadis in June 2007 as director of marketing and holds a BS degree in management and an MBA from Arizona State University.

Dick Daniels named to PCCI board of directors

Dick Daniels

Dick Daniels recently joined the Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation board. Daniels is executive vice president and CIO at Kaiser Permanente, a role he’s held since January 2015. His breadth of experience will help pioneer innovations in artificial intelligence and personalized care for the independent, nonprofit healthcare analytics research and development organization.

Daniels joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008 and previously was senior vice president of IT for Capital One. He holds a bachelor of applied science degree in business administration and management from Texas State University.

Fari Ebrahimi hired as senior vice president, CIO for Akamai

Fari Ebrahimi joined Akamai with the purview of “end-to-end business transformation, including global strategy, development, and operation of the applications and IT infrastructure that enable agile and efficient user experiences for Akamai's customers, employees, and partners,” according to a recent release. Previously, he was senior vice president and CIO at Avaya for several years, and prior to that, he was senior vice president and CIO for Verizon. Ebrahimi has a degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Maryland College Park.

Sandra Harris named successor CIO at VF Corporation

As announced in 2017, Sandra Harris took over the IT helm at VF Corporation after the recent retirement of Martin Schneider. Harris was promoted into the role from her former position as vice president of global business technology and will be tasked to “further elevate the use of technology to support the company’s global business growth objectives,” according to a press release. Harris has been with the firm for nearly 10 years and was previously CFO with Old Castle Glass. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Clemson University.

Mark Hernon named senior vice president, CIO at Biogen

Mark Hernon will be leading the global IT organization at Biogen and comes to the company with more than 30 years of IT experience and strategic leadership. He was formerly the regional CIO for the Americas and Global Head of R&D, QA and HR Systems, as well as vice president of operations for Takeda Pharmaceuticals, and was previously with Millennium Pharmaceuticals for many years.

Hernon holds BS and MS degrees in industrial and management engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

 Guess & Co. appoints Joel Bandy senior executive vice president and CIO

Joel Bandy

Joel Bandy was named senior executive vice president and CIO at  Guess & Co. He has nearly 20 years of experience as an IT executive. Bandy joined Guess & Co. Corporation as interim executive vice president and IT officer. In his new role, he will oversee all IT concerns for the company and assist with operational strategy.

Bandy’s prior roles include director of applications with Molina Healthcare and director of IT/CISO with Presbyterian Communities and Services. He holds an MBA from the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business and a BBA from Texas A&M University.

American Society of Health-System Pharmacists names Bob Rosecrans CIO and vice president of IT

Bob Rosecrans was named CIO and vice president of IT at American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He has more than 30 years’ experience in IT, including more than 14 as CIO. He had previously been with Pixces Consulting Group and Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). Rosecrans holds a BA degree in business administration and economics from Pfeiffer University and an MBA from Loyola University. 

Covanta promotes Ben Cabrera to vice president and CIO

Ben Cabrera has been named vice president and CIO of Covanta. He was most recently vice president of delivery services, a position he’d held for several years with the company. He had previously been with Schering Plough and Pfizer. Cabrera holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and an EMBA from NYU Stern School of Business.

Rajeev Ravindran named senior vice president and CIO with Ryder

Rajeev Ravindran recently joined Ryder from JM Family Enterprises, where he was group vice president and CIO since June 2003. He has a deep background in vendor management, business process improvement, automotive, IT strategy, and project management and holds a degree from the University of Miami.

Ryan Loy now CIO with EBSCO Industries

As CIO at EBSCO Industries, Ryan Loy will be responsible for spearheading the company’s IT and technology strategy to support day-to-day operations.

Loy joins the company from ADTRAN, where he was vice president and CIO since June 2015. He holds a MS degree in information systems from Ball State University.

Kenneth Gasior named vice president and CIO for Talen Energy

Kenneth Gasior has been named vice president and CIO for Talen Energy. He was previously a senior consultant with the company and has deep experience with other energy firms, such as Extol Energy Services, Topaz Power Management/Raven Power, and Constellation Energy. He holds a BA degree in economics from the University of Maryland and an MBA in finance from Loyola University Maryland.

Tammylynne Jonas joins Holiday Companies from Kohl’s, where she was VP – Technology: Vendor Management, Sourcing, Enterprise Services. Previously, she was Director – Operations for the same. She has more than 15 years of experience in retail and nearly 20 years of experience in technology.

Jonas has a BA in mathematics, English and Spanish from Carthage College, and she has an MBA in international business from Marquette University. She was named a "40 Under 40" by the Milwaukee Business Journal in 2015 and "Young Alumna of the Year" by Marquette University in 2017.

Harper Grey promotes Dharam Dheensaw to CIO

Dharam Dheensaw was promoted from CTO to CIO after joining Harper Grey in December 2016. In this role, he is responsible for the operational and strategic management of the firm’s IT resources, including data management, digital security, disaster recovery, network infrastructure, and a wide array of applications, as well as project management for new system implementations. Dheensaw has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and mathematics from the University of Victoria and an MBA from Simon Fraser University.

Peter Opalka joins Hallmark as senior vice president, information technology (CIO)

Peter Opalka joins the iconic brand with more than 21 years of experience in IT leadership, with the intent of advancing retail, operational and business strategies for Hallmark, by means of driving key cost and supply chain initiatives. He was formerly vice president of global infrastructure and IT service delivery with Unilever, where he was for nearly 15 years. Opalka has a bachelor’s degree in business management/administration, management and operations from Shenandoah University.

Rockwell Automation hires Chris Nardecchia for senior vice president, IT & CIO role

Chris Nardecchia joins Rockwell Automation and will bring strategic vision, operational excellence and transformational leadership in this newly created role. He was most recently vice president and CIO global operations and supply chain for Amgen, where he had been for more than 10 years. Nardecchia has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering and an MBA in integrated management, finance, supply chain from the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University.

Christine Putur named CIO for REI

Christine Putur is REI’s new CIO. The veteran retail IT executive was formerly executive vice president and CIO with Coach, as well as senior vice president and CIO with Staples. Putur holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in administrative science and math from Colby College and a Master’s of Science degree in management information systems from Boston University. She is also a board member for Information Services Group.

Voya Financial names Santhosh Keshavan CIO

Santhosh Keshavan joins Voya Financial from Regions Financial, where he was the CIO for core banking, working closely with business partners in prioritizing technology initiatives and driving culture change. At Voya, Keshavan will lead the company’s overall IT and information security operations by driving innovation, simplification, and efficiency, resulting in a better customer experience, according to a recent release. Keshavan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in computer science from the University of Mysore and an MBA in information systems from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt hires Trish Torizzo for CIO role

Trish Torizzo joins the executive team at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt from Charles River Labs, where she was a divisional CIO, enterprise & analytics. In her new role at HMH, Torizzo will help to define and implement a strategic technology vision aligned with the organization's growth and transformation goals. She will be operationally responsible for all internal technology services and delivery, including infrastructure, security, hosting centers, networking, data and analytics functionality, legacy system management and rationalization, ERP, CRM, and driving cloud migration and enablement.

Norfork Southern names Fred Ehlers CIO

Fred Ehlers, who has been with Norfork Southern since 1985, was promoted to CIO. He will continue to serve as vice president of IT, a position he has held since 2013. Ehlers will look to use technology to boost operating efficiencies, lower costs, and improve corporate performance via the company’s technology and digital systems. He earned an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from Queens College.

World Fuel Services appoints Stephen Gold to board

Stephen Gold, currently serving as executive vice president of technology and operations innovation, CIO for CVS Health Corp., was appointed to the board of directors for World Fuel Services. A release from the organization states that Gold’s “vast experience in technology will prove invaluable on our journey to grow our technology offerings, digitize our business, and drive internal efficiencies, creating value for our customers in the global energy, logistics and payments marketplaces.” He will serve as a member of the Technology and Operations and Governance committees.

L’Oreal names Michael Kingston CIO

Michael Kingston brings more than 20 years of IT expertise and an extensive technical background to L’Oreal. He will be tasked with empowering the organization through enterprise transformation. Previous roles for Kingston include senior vice president, CIO for Neiman Marcus and executive vice president, enterprise transformation and technology with Ann Taylor.

Steve Reynolds now CIO for Onyx Centersource

Steve Reynolds comes to Onyx Centersource with more than 20 years of IT and executive experience. He is tasked with transforming the way the travel commission industry does business through innovative technologies. He was previously president and CTO of BT Advisors. Reynolds has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the Jack Welch Management Institute at Chancellor University.

Aegis Sciences Corp. hires Tim Ryan as CIO
