Harper Grey promotes Dharam Dheensaw to CIO

Dharam Dheensaw was promoted from CTO to CIO after joining Harper Grey in December 2016. In this role, he is responsible for the operational and strategic management of the firm’s IT resources, including data management, digital security, disaster recovery, network infrastructure, and a wide array of applications, as well as project management for new system implementations. Dheensaw has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and mathematics from the University of Victoria and an MBA from Simon Fraser University.

Peter Opalka joins Hallmark as senior vice president, information technology (CIO)

Peter Opalka joins the iconic brand with more than 21 years of experience in IT leadership, with the intent of advancing retail, operational and business strategies for Hallmark, by means of driving key cost and supply chain initiatives. He was formerly vice president of global infrastructure and IT service delivery with Unilever, where he was for nearly 15 years. Opalka has a bachelor’s degree in business management/administration, management and operations from Shenandoah University.

Rockwell Automation hires Chris Nardecchia for senior vice president, IT & CIO role

Chris Nardecchia joins Rockwell Automation and will bring strategic vision, operational excellence and transformational leadership in this newly created role. He was most recently vice president and CIO global operations and supply chain for Amgen, where he had been for more than 10 years. Nardecchia has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering and an MBA in integrated management, finance, supply chain from the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University.

Christine Putur named CIO for REI

Christine Putur is REI’s new CIO. The veteran retail IT executive was formerly executive vice president and CIO with Coach, as well as senior vice president and CIO with Staples. Putur holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in administrative science and math from Colby College and a Master’s of Science degree in management information systems from Boston University. She is also a board member for Information Services Group.

Voya Financial names Santhosh Keshavan CIO

Santhosh Keshavan joins Voya Financial from Regions Financial, where he was the CIO for core banking, working closely with business partners in prioritizing technology initiatives and driving culture change. At Voya, Keshavan will lead the company’s overall IT and information security operations by driving innovation, simplification, and efficiency, resulting in a better customer experience, according to a recent release. Keshavan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in computer science from the University of Mysore and an MBA in information systems from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt hires Trish Torizzo for CIO role

Trish Torizzo joins the executive team at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt from Charles River Labs, where she was a divisional CIO, enterprise & analytics. In her new role at HMH, Torizzo will help to define and implement a strategic technology vision aligned with the organization's growth and transformation goals. She will be operationally responsible for all internal technology services and delivery, including infrastructure, security, hosting centers, networking, data and analytics functionality, legacy system management and rationalization, ERP, CRM, and driving cloud migration and enablement.

Norfork Southern names Fred Ehlers CIO

Fred Ehlers, who has been with Norfork Southern since 1985, was promoted to CIO. He will continue to serve as vice president of IT, a position he has held since 2013. Ehlers will look to use technology to boost operating efficiencies, lower costs, and improve corporate performance via the company’s technology and digital systems. He earned an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from Queens College.

World Fuel Services appoints Stephen Gold to board

Stephen Gold, currently serving as executive vice president of technology and operations innovation, CIO for CVS Health Corp., was appointed to the board of directors for World Fuel Services. A release from the organization states that Gold’s “vast experience in technology will prove invaluable on our journey to grow our technology offerings, digitize our business, and drive internal efficiencies, creating value for our customers in the global energy, logistics and payments marketplaces.” He will serve as a member of the Technology and Operations and Governance committees.

L’Oreal names Michael Kingston CIO

Michael Kingston brings more than 20 years of IT expertise and an extensive technical background to L’Oreal. He will be tasked with empowering the organization through enterprise transformation. Previous roles for Kingston include senior vice president, CIO for Neiman Marcus and executive vice president, enterprise transformation and technology with Ann Taylor.

Steve Reynolds now CIO for Onyx Centersource

He is tasked with transforming the way the travel commission industry does business through innovative technologies. He was previously president and CTO of BT Advisors. Todd Smith promoted to CIO with Horizon Pharma

Todd Smith was most recently vice president of IT with Horizon Pharma. Prior to joining the company, Smith was global head of SAP CoE at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where he held several senior-level IT roles. He has a BSE in industrial engineering from the University of Iowa and an MBA in marketing and operations from the Henry B. Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa.

SANS Institute names Howard Cribbs as CIO

Howard Cribbs comes to SANS Institute from NetApp, where he was CIO, West Area, for several years. Previously, he held the title of CTO with EMC. Cribbs has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University; he also graduated from the U.S. Army Military Intelligence School.

Landmark Credit Union names Steve Hannan CIO

Michael Smith brings more than 25 years of technology leadership experience to Estee Lauder Companies. In this role, he will further advance IT innovation and support the company’s growth strategy and evolving needs, with particular emphasis on driving global technology solutions in key areas such as retail, digital, social and analytics. Previously, Smith was CEO of Boma Technologies, a technology consulting company that he founded, and he held various technology leadership positions at companies such as Mylan NV and Nike, Inc.

Harsh Ramani named senior vice president and CIO for Flowers Foods

In this role, Harsh Ramani will lead Flowers Foods' IT operations, with a focus on enhancing key business tools and processes, as the company looks to tackle a multi-year initiative to achieve various strategic goals. Ramani was most recently Global CIO and senior vice president of ARYZTA. He has also worked with Constellation Brands, Exxon Mobil, Dr. Pepper/Snapple, Cadbury Schweppes, and Red Bull. He has a BBA-MIS from the University of Texas at Austin and a MBA in finance from Dallas Baptist University.

Freddie Mac hires Stacey Goodman as executive vice president and CIO

Stacey Goodman has more than 25 years of technology experience and will lead Freddie Mac’s IT team and be a member of the senior operating committee. Prior to joining the company, Goodman was executive vice president, CIO and operations officer with CIT. Previously, Goodman held senior leadership roles in the respective IT divisions at Bank of America and UBS. In her new role, Goodman will report to CEO Donald Layton.

Bridgestone Americas names Stefano Mezzabotta CIO

Stefano Mezzabotta will lead and oversee the vision, strategy and operations of Bridgestone Americas’ IT department. He will provide strategic IT leadership and direction for all Bridgestone Americas business units and functions and deliver technology solutions that help power the business lines and drive innovation and operational excellence throughout the organization.

Mezzabotta was most recently director of Global Business Units – Global Shared Services and IT for Procter & Gamble. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Ancona, Italy. He was also a Navy Officer with the Naval Academy in Livorno, Italy.

JPMorgan promotes Lori Beer to Global CIO

Lori Beer is replacing Dana Deasy, who is retiring. Previously, Beer was CIO for JPMorgan’s corporate and investment bank. She will join the operating committee as part of her new role. Before joining the company, Beer was executive vice president of specialty businesses and IT for Anthem. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science at the University of Dayton.

Driven Brands names Steve Collins vice president and CIO

Steve Collins was named vice president and CIO of Driven Brands. Prior to that, he was with Marlin Equity Partners where he served as an operating principal and CIO. He has also worked as a director at PWC where he specialized in M&A and IT Effectiveness. Throughout his 25-year career, Collins has spent time at Deloitte, General Motors Powertrain and GMAC, following his tenure in the United States Marine Corps.

Collins graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in telecommunications and attended Xavier University’s MBA program.

Ecolab promotes Anil Arcalgud to CIO

Anil Arcalgud was named CIO at Ecolab. He has worked at Ecolab since 2009, most recently as vice president of global business services, and before that, vice president of finance. Before joining the company, Arcalgud held several positions of increasing responsibility with Motorola. Arcalgud holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph’s College.

Saia hires Rohit Lal as vice president and CIO

Rohit Lal is responsible for ensuring that Saia's information technology enables and supports the company's key business objectives in advanced analytics, deployment and optimization of technology, and expansion. He was formerly IT director of architecture for CONA Services, a Coca-Cola System IT Services Company. Lal has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Aramark hires Mike Giresi as CIO

Mike Giresi recently joined Aramark, the food/facilities/uniforms service provider, after two years as CIO with Royal Caribbean. His role will be to ensure that the business stays in lockstep with upcoming trends with a customer-centric focus that enables growth and strengthens the brand from a technology perspective. Giresi was also CIO for Tory Burch for four years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Seton Hall University and a MBA from Saint Joseph’s University Erivan K. Haub School of Business.
