The prestigious New Zealand CIO50 Awards will take place this year as a virtual event on 14 October 2020, following its postponement in March due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

At this online event will be named New Zealand’s top technology leaders who have the overall responsibility and control of the ICT vision and IT direction of their organisation. These essential C-level executives are at the forefront of decision-making and strategic change in their companies, enabling the innovation required to stay ahead in these uncertain economic times, says CIO New Zealand editor Sarah Putt.

She continues:

It’s been a topsy-turvy year, but we couldn’t let it end without honouring the amazing work of the CIO community in New Zealand. If there was ever a time when their expertise was required it has been during this global pandemic and, as expected, CIOs and their teams have continued to deliver for their organisations every day.

From enabling their organisation’s staff to work from home through to setting up entirely new e-commerce capabilities, while at the same time dealing with an increase in cyber security attacks and concerns. The work performed by IT leaders in the past six months means we are especially proud this year celebrate New Zealand’s outstanding CIOs.

The New Zealand CIO50, in association with DXC Technology, will take place on Wednesday 14 October, from 5pm. Attendance is open to all IT leaders this year, so please visit the CIO50 website to register.
