Dr. James Canton is a leading futurist, adviser and keynote speaker to Global Fortune 500 companies and government. He is the CEO of the Institute for Global Futures, a San Francisco think tank he founded in 1990. He is author of Future Smart, the Extreme Future and Technofutures. CNN named the "Digital Guru" for his insights into the digital business model.

James was an executive at Apple and worked on the original Mac project, he also headed up an early artificial intelligence company called Umecorp and has dabbled in investment banking and startups. He has served on the Visionary Board, Motorola Labs, the Knowledge Innovation Network, the Kellogg School and the MIT Media Lab EU, and was a founding co-chair of Futures and Forecasting at Singularity University at NASA Ames.
