Jose Hernandez

Jose Hernandez is a senior executive in AARP’s technology organization and a member of AARP’s leadership team and operating committee. Jose is the founder and executive sponsor of The Tech Nest, AARP’s first university-based innovation lab that focuses on the practical application of disruptive technologies. His primary responsibility includes structuring AARP’s investments in technology. His business acumen and track record affords a unique insight into results driven business outcome allowing organizations to progress towards a common outcome. Jose began his career in consulting and progressed to leadership positions in logistics, product development, manufacturing and retail sectors. He brings extensive product and service development expertise to AARP.

An accomplished executive with over 20 years of broad experience in the field of technology, Jose has a proven track record of executing key transformation initiatives by aligning them to key business outcomes and objectives. Holding leadership positions in all facets of technology and product lifecycle, Jose has had the opportunity to lead teams in Latin America, Europe, Central Asia and the Far East. He holds degrees in Accounting and Information Systems and has attained executive program certificates from Georgetown, Columbia, and Harvard.
