Karen McDermott is the global head of marketing and communications for the Financial Services Industry at SAP. Karen began her career at American Express in Global Advertising. She went on to lead: online advertising and web development at JPMorgan Chase, executive communications at Citigroup in Global Wealth Management, and marketing and communications at The Bank of New York Mellon in their global Corporate Trust division.

Following the 2008 financial crisis, Karen transitioned into technology services marketing in a role leading financial services industry marketing at Xerox for 8 years before joining SAP in 2016.

In her current role Karen is focused on the innovations that are propelling financial services into the future: into the future: AI, ML, Blockchain, Biometrics, Chatbots and Cloud Computing.
