Michael Frendo joined Polycom in 2014 to lead Polycom's global engineering team as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Engineering. In this role, he leads a global team of innovators that continue to bring cutting edge technologies and visual collaboration products to market that span the break-room to the boardroom and the café to the airlines. Polycom engineering is focused on bringing pervasive visual collaboration to users through deep ecosystem integration, personal device technology, cloud based delivery and an intuitive yet powerful user experience.

Michael has also renewed Polycom's devotion to quality, ensuring the delivery of high quality products to the market. He has encouraged creativity among engineers by supporting the creation of new products and bringing more innovative products to market.

Prior to joining Polycom Michael was the Senior Vice President of Architecture at Infinera Corp. He has also managed teams at Avaya, Juniper Networks, Cisco Systems and Bell Northern Research.

Michael holds a doctorate of philosophy and a master's degree in electrical engineering from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, and an honors bachelor of science in computer science from Western University in London, Canada.
