The City of London Corporation, despite the name, is a local authority. Also known as the Corporation of London it is the local government body for the Square Mile in London that houses many of the nation’s leading financial institutes. The City of London Corporation has three stated aims; promotion of London as a world leading centre for finance and business, local government services and providing services for the benefit of the UK, London and Londoners. There will be two divisions focussing on Business Solutions, including dedicated Business Relationship Management, Business Change Management, IM, Business Solution Programme and Project Delivery and Customer relations. Primary technology platforms at the organisation:As well as the standard Microsoft Office, SharePoint and CRM, Oracle, Mitel and a range of other specialist applications and platforms to cover the manifold activities of the City. Primary technology suppliers:Microsoft, Oracle, HP, Mitel Significant strategic technology deals been struck in the last 12 months: Working with Microsoft SharePoint and CRM experts to deliver website, intranet, collaboration, Business Intelligence, EDRMS and ECM Strategic aim of the CIO and IT operations for the next financial year:We have just restructured the IS Department to re-focus on Business Solutions, moving up the IM (Information Management) value chain to work on information governance, architecture, and management, knowledge management, and delivery of a supporting SharePoint programme.
