BAE Systems is a modern conglomeration of the aircraft, ship building and military manufacturing of the UK’s past. BAE is the world’s largest military contractor and came into being as BAE in November 1999 through the merger of Marconi Electronic Systems, General Electric Company and British Aerospace. In its past are famous companies such as AV Roe, de Havilland and Supermarine. It no longer has shares in Airbus. The renewal extends a 17-year existing agreement due to expire in April, and covers a large range of IT management services for the company, one of the UK's largest defence suppliers.The Military Air and Information (MAI) division signed a contract with business application software provider Infor to support its business transformation programme.
