Jackson Hull has used his combined role of Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer at GoCompare to increase the frequency of releases at the price comparison site from once a quarter to several times a week. When Hull joined the company in 2016, he found major potential isolated in silos that only a complete restructuring of the business could unlock. His strategy to do this involved forming the company's first product team and dividing staff into small cross-functional teams that could quicken the pace of development The transformation was complete within 90 days, and software release frequency immediately increased. Hull still wants to quicken the pace, until GoCompare is releasing software on-demand. The changes had a ripple effect on the company, opening up new opportunities for collaboration with other departments.
