Gideon Kay, Chief Information Officer for EMEA at global media group Dentsu Aegis Network, has driven and embedded a significant amount of change in the area of data platforms and capability during the past 12 months. Like so many CIOs, he has been leading his organisation into the cloud and away from an on-premise infrastructure. 'Routes to cloud' have been created for as many platforms as viable, and value in pace, agility and cost management is starting to emerge. Kay has also invested heavily in identity management to help organise IT access privileges for a large and complex workforce. The onboarding of new staff has been made more efficient as a result, and acquisition integration improved. The entire IT service organisation was moved to ServiceNow in 2017, with an end-user self-service capability layered on top. Customer satisfaction has risen and cost-to-serve fallen as a result. The past 12 months have also seen him carry through a finance transformation programme and launch a global rollout of Workday to reshape HR management, which has delivered a big rise in employee satisfaction and management capability. Machine learning algorithms have been added to analytics to improve client outcomes.
