2020 Winner Profile

Parkinson's UK

Shaun Le Geyt

Appointed to his first CIO role in December 2018, Shaun Le Geyt, CIO of Parkinson’s UK, has already delivered considerable value with limited resource.

Cyber resilience, business continuity, customer service and value for money were all on his agenda. His replacement of on-site servers and switches and move of business-critical systems to Azure cloud eliminated what had been almost daily network and legacy system issues and onerous manual backup processes.

The deployment of Google G Suite in place of Office 365 has improved cross-organisation collaboration for a largely home-based and regionally dispersed workforce, with greater videoconferencing and document co-creation.

A new service desk has enabled the insourcing of first-line technical support. The average customer satisfaction rating has leapt to 4.7 out of 5, a real turnaround on a culture of dissatisfaction with IT and complaints about timely problem resolution.

And a new SaaS management system has been rolled out for more than 6,000 volunteers. It is providing a significantly better and more engaging user experience while helping the charity to maintain and develop relationships with them.
