IT staff currently employed:1,690 permanent staff, 844 contractors.

IT management team and reporting structure:Centrica has CIOs in each Business Unit, in addition to head of IS Lean Centrica, SAP Competency Centrica and IS Shared Services who all report to the CIO.

Primary technology platforms at the organisation:SAP and ERP - in addition to intranet. Our trading system in Openlink Endur.

Primary technology suppliers:HP. Fujitsu, Cable and Wireless, Vodafone, Cognizant, SAP and Microsoft - to name a few.

Significant strategic technology deals been struck in the last 12 months: Centrica has managed to deploy an online self-service HR portal, which connects to its core back-end SAP ERP system and is used by 30,000 employees, using agile development – a methodology rarely associated with the European software giant.
