Cisco's internal Enterprise Class Teleworker project provides unified communications services to employees who work at home these services include wireless access to corporate systems, voice-over-IP, and video conferencing services. Users can enter data, including which services they need, and have their home routers configured automatically. The company projects the system will have 15,000 users by July 2008 and 26,000 users by July 2009. The company expects to save $2.5 million over two years by having users provision themselves, and another $665,000 annually by getting rid of corporate-paid home phone lines.
