ACU has developed a robust infrastructure of podcasts, flashcards and other learning applications and components to enhance and support the classroom experience. Called ACU Connected, this mobile platform was provided to all 2008 incoming freshman along with an iPhone or iPod Touch by which to access it. The system allows teachers to send instant homework alerts, as well as run in-class quizzes and surveys and receive regular student feedback. Students can also stay connected on campus, with applications that provide access to meal account balances and directions to professors offices. Close to 1,000 students and 200 teachers have access to the system; 70 percent of the student body uses mobile devices to visit the schools website several times a week.
