The IRS offers a 24/7 service that provides video conferencing services for hard-of-hearing employees to communicate with hearing employees. The service includes use of a video phone, a PC and services of an American Sign Language interpreter. Previously, the IRS says, interpreters needed to be scheduled anywhere from 24 hours to a week in advance, making it almost impossible for hard-of-hearing employees to participate in day-to-day conference calls.
