2012 Winner Profile

Nationwide Insurance

Project Description:
Nationwide Insurances Model Factory combines commercial tools, open-source tools, and proprietary capabilities to help the company make better business decisions, reduce the time and money it takes to capitalize on analytic insights, and react in near-real time to customer preferences and needs by tapping into data streaming in from various transactional systems. The Model Factory lets Nationwide embed predictive models in its existing agent and call center business systems where customer contact occurs. Then, by scoring and prioritizing various types of contact, the company can identify which customers to call, when to call them, and what to discuss with them. By accurately scoring messages, service opportunities and traditional marketing opportunities, Nationwide can make the most effective use of each inbound or outbound customer interaction. In addition, its prospects and customers are subjected to fewer but more-effective contacts and its agents and customer representatives are more productive.
