2012 Winner Profile

Toyota Financial Services

Project Description:
Toyota Financial Services' iLab is a big project with a small name. iLab's goal is to bring people together in a modern space where they can see the apps that support their business, collaborate with colleagues companywide irrespective of geography, and safely play with new technologies and ideas. The iLab is about integrating progressive IT delivery tools into a physical space that is virtually accessible. Toyota brought together touch technology, collaboration platforms, prototyping tools and mobile devices to bring business stakeholders into the fold in a fundamentally different way. In just five months, the iLab has been visited by over 500 employees and has hosted over 100 meetings. It has markedly enhanced business and IT collaboration. Cost savings from the project are strong. On one major project, Toyota compared the traditional requirements analysis method with the new iLab prototyping techniques and saw an 85 percent reduction in effort.
