2013 Winner Profile

Allergan, Inc.

Project Description:
Pharmaceutical company Allergan uses its My R&D Portal, which aggregates and visualizes key clinical data, to enhance decision analysis and trend recognition. Previously, employees entered business data in multiple siloed enterprise systems. Managers would then physically extract and compile the information to make key business decisions. The project reimagined the architecture for clinical data, and now the company's portal delivers timely information to the right decision-makers at the right time. Since it began using the portal, Allergan has estimated a cost avoidance of nearly $6.5 million at full usage thanks to early detection of operational problems. What's more, the portal's unified data sources have improved communication, accountability and reporting while reducing wasteful redundant reporting.
