2013 Winner Profile

Boston Scientific Corp.

Project Description:
To more accurately measure the company's real performance against its designated priority growth areas, Boston Scientific created an Enterprise Performance Management system-an automated, interactive set of 26 key performance indicators that establish companywide process standards. It centralizes business data into a single source of truth by using scorecard and dashboard tools to drive information directly to the executive leadership team and senior management group. The new measurements force people to be accountable across the entire enterprise and create two-way transparency between senior management and the corporate executive team. This tool's automation and focus on key metrics is allowing the finance organization, for example, to reduce its operating costs. The new system also eliminates the need to manually create the reports and presentations used during senior leadership review meetings.
