2013 Winner Profile

Chattahoochee Technical College

Project Description:
Chattahoochee Technical College's Grad Audit project increases the college's graduation rate and provides positive reinforcement to students as they pursue their degrees. The project uses customized data-mining software to proactively evaluate student records to determine progress toward degrees and identify milestones of completion. Graduation audits can now be done in bulk for a given major, rather than one at a time, and students are able to earn an award based on meeting the requirements for a degree even if they haven't declared a major. These incremental awards, given for successes that would have gone unnoticed, gives students motivation to further their education.
