City University of Hong Kong

Project Description:
City University of Hong Kong undertook a three-year, IT-driven business transformation, called the 334 IT Implementation project, aimed at delivering a suite of technology to support the university's new Discovery-Enriched Curriculum and its conversion from a three-year to a four-year degree program. The central IT organization revamped all existing administrative systems and created a technology-rich teaching and learning environment to enable a new model of anywhere, anytime, always-on education that leverages social media and mobile apps. The project also included various IT infrastructure upgrades to support these new capabilities, including an upgraded wireless network to ensure full campus coverage. The IT organization deployed a business intelligence dashboard, built using IBM Cognos and integrated with Oracle Essbase, to allow managers to gauge the curriculum's success.
