2013 Winner Profile

DFW International Airport

Project Description:
The DFW Portal Framework is a custom-built application foundation designed by internal staff that supports the airport's theme of communication, coordination and collaboration, or C3, and provides a solid, secure footing for swift deployments of portals and widgets that enable the airport's operations. The first C3 tool, DFW C3 Portal, is a collection of dashboards, data-entry forms, widgets and digital maps for airport workers. The second, the Application Hub, is the central repository of more than 150 commercial and custom-built applications for internal users. The third tool, a consolidated portal for external tenants and business partners, will provide external users with a consolidated view of their applications and data. These tools have increased communication, situational awareness and productivity. They also provide for rapid data sharing and business intelligence opportunities while saving the airport more than $600,000 in the first year.
