2013 Winner Profile

Donlen Corp.

Project Description:
Federal regulations require commercial vehicle drivers and fleet-management companies to document certain job-related information, such as a driver's time on duty, driving time and total miles driven. Donlen's IT group saw an opportunity to help its transportation clients better manage this information. So it developed Donlen Logistics, a comprehensive program that helps drivers and companies meet federal compliance requirements, thereby increasing fleet productivity and safety. Donlen Logistics eliminates the paper-centric process by using HTML 5 Web and Android technologies to let drivers access records through a handheld device or tablet and immediately send the information over email or copy it to a USB drive. This yields increased compliance, which will reduce violations and fines for companies. Donlen integrated its logistics program with its proprietary DriverPoint Telematics system, which allows fleet managers to monitor commercial vehicles' engine speed, distance and driver location data. Donlen also integrated the system with its FleetWeb fleet-management system.
