Juhudi Kilimo's FarmerLeads Management System (FLMS) places critical information at the fingertips of its field loan and credit officers in Kenya. Composed of Samsung tablets and powered by SalesForce CRM, FLMS is a cloud-based mobile platform that lets Juhudi Kilimo's field loan officers capture and store real-time data such as scheduled meetings, credit appraisals and business assessments while visiting smallholder farmers in deep rural areas of Kenya. Launched in August 2012, FLMS runs on extremely low bandwidth on a 3G network, eliminating the need for fibre optic, Wimax or wired buildings for connectivity. Having achieved 100 percent buy-in from upper management, FLSM is expected to increase farmer conversation rates from 10 percent to 50 percent, and to boost field workers' case load from 300 cases per loan officer to 500 while reducing paperwork and improving business processes.
