2013 Winner Profile

Trek Bicycles

Project Description:
Trek rolled out a master data management platform to get control of its information on a huge and complex product line, and to make the appropriate information available in the local language of each country where Trek sells its products. The system provides digital asset management and a complete product information management system for the company's 20,000 SKUs. It handles 35 languages in a single system, allowing for scalability. It supports quicker production of catalogs in local languages, reducing print process costs by $100,000 a year, and eliminates the need for third-party management of the company's websites and data. The company can now update its catalog several times a day, if needed, to provide up-to-the-minute information and correct errors.
