Villanova is adapting to the consumerization of IT by providing faculty, staff and students with on-demand access to the university's portal and its cloud-based storage, as textbooks are replaced with online content. This has meant supporting the migration from standard-issue laptops to bring-your-own devices for more than 12,000 users, and continuing to serve the ever-growing need for wireless bandwidth. The universitys cloud based transactional and storage utilization has more than doubled in the past three years. With a new mobile website interface and native iPhone and Android apps, students can access almost all the offerings of Villanova's website on their mobile devices, including YouTube videos of instruction and online feeds of academic material. In a recent survey, 93 percent of faculty and staff rated the university's online offerings and services as good to excellent.
