Project Description:
This healthcare company created a system that produces a dynamically generated booklet (in print and electronic formats) that delivers cardiovascular disease-focused diagnostic laboratory test results with personalized text and graphics. Patients receive a customized document that addresses them directly on a first-name basis and delivers personalized information about their health status; increases their health literacy about such factors as lipids, inflammation, metabolics and genetics; and provides treatment considerations for a healthy lifestyle. The report integrates the patient's test results with clinical risk factors (such as age, gender, and past medical and family history) and offers treatment considerations using decision rules, proprietary algorithms and clinical guidelines based on thousands of peer-reviewed studies. Patients receive the resulting reports -- 25 pages or more -- directly from their healthcare provider and via a secure portal. Patients find the report language and graphics more understandable than the typical diagnostics laboratory report.
