2015 Winner Profile

Eaton Corp.

Project Description:
Eaton, a power management company, faced numerous technical challenges following the acquisition of Cooper Industries in 2012. For an acquisition of this size, integrating the two companies using traditional methods was not practical, so the company implemented innovative solutions to allow for access to Eaton's intranet on the day the acquisition was closed. Over the next 18 months, Eaton fully integrated 16,000 former Cooper employees across 218 locations, saving millions in expenditures by leveraging technology that allowed for remote migration methods. Furthermore, the company implemented new processes to define software platform standards that would ensure additional IT cost savings. In addition, a new customer-facing portal to migrate new and existing customer bases was launched. The new MyEaton portal provides customers an enhanced experience and loyalty program while allowing the company to better target its marketing initiatives.
