FedEx Workbench MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) is a suite of mission-critical applications that automates complex Air Operations business processes for managing aircraft maintenance, engineering and material management -- including a $2 billion aircraft parts inventory. The next-generation MRO system also allows for the retirement of legacy applications. (Prior to Workbench, predictive maintenance was nearly impossible.) Workbench's analysis tools enable aircraft maintenance technicians, material staff and other critical Air Ops resources to make faster and more cost-effective decisions. Thousands of pages of institutional knowledge and hours of training are now available to technicians on the plane through on-demand technology leveraging YouTube and Facetime. By automating the mandatory documentation of every repaired engine, Workbench reduces this process from four days per engine to 15 minutes.
