Johnson Controls, a leading automobile battery manufacturer, built a cutting-edge system that uses business intelligence and predictive analytics to provide collaborative forecasting, marketing and sales strategies for its customers. The system generates stocking and pricing recommendations for customers based on data about existing and new products, the supply chain, market prices and consumer demand. It also creates battery demand plans and product selling strategies by merging point of sale information, vehicle registrations and consumer research data to help inform customers' sales and marketing decisions. By predicting part-by-part demand for customers, the system is a competitive differentiator that results in stronger customer loyalty.
