Project Description:
The New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) has implemented the initial phases of its Advanced Traffic Management Program (ATMP). The program was designed to help minimize congestion and improve traffic flow on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. ATMP is a combination of business policy changes, process improvements, staff skill development and technology implementation. It provides a suite of services for traffic management professionals that enables the NJTA to improve its ability to respond to an ever-changing set of planned and unplanned events on both the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. These events include: traffic congestion, accidents, adverse weather, motorist aid requests, scheduled public events and more.
