Workers' compensation, disability and leave of absence claimants have plenty of questions, which have traditionally been handled by telephone calls. Sedgwick is the first third-party claims administrator to offer "push technology," which lets employees get automated and on-demand updates about their claims. Triggered by claim lifecycle events, personalized correspondence is automatically delivered via the claimant's method of choice -- email, SMS text message, automated telephone call or fax -- to improve the customer experience. The push technology is integrated with Sedgwick's proprietary claims management software, HR self-service portals and interactive voice-response systems. This level of automation yields operational savings and reduces routine claims-related telephone calls, freeing examiners to focus on higher-level tasks.
