Project Description:
Pacific Gas and Electric Company implemented three new distribution control centers over the past 2 years, all in the great state of California. One of them is up and running in Fresno which opened in late 2014, another in Concord opened in 2015, and the third opened in Rocklin just this year and all of them are revolutionizing the way operators monitor and control PG&E's electrical grid. PG&E's new control centers utilize smart grid technology and a new Distribution Management System which relies on sophisticated mapping and communication technologies allowing operators to pinpoint power outages and restore services using a range of solutions including self-healing grid technology.
