2016 Winner Profile

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA)

Project Description:
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) created the Travel Information and Revenue Enhancement Platform (TIREP) to distribute information along all stages of the airport experience. For example, TIREP collects data from multiple sources into a single database, scrubbing, repurposing and validating it to create one or more data-feed distributions that are published to user display devices. This content enables content management of airport digital signage at multiple locations; geotagging a traveler's parking spot; displaying real-time security wait time, boarding time, arrival and departure times; and displaying in-flight information, such as meal, entertainment and carryon options. In addition to a number of back-end efficiencies, the project helps facilitate pubic safety by displaying emergency notifications to all systems from a central system.
