Project Description:
In 2014 the Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp begin development of the Merck Data Store, which provides their employees with a single, web-based solution to both publish, and access crucial and highly segregated information in an accelerated way. Leveraging a more familiar, and intuitive solution, Merck chose a web shopping model, delivered through an Amazon-like shopping experience. Using this solution Merck employees can now easily discover data and gain access to the information they need with all of the functionality and controls required to enforce and ensure compliance measures are consistently met. In its first year alone the new Merck Data Store has been utilized by over 1200 employees and has reduced the average time to access data by over 83 percent providing an increased value realization of nearly $8 million in reduced time to discover data for analytics programs.
