Project Description:
Dell launched the Active Service Unit (ASU) Forecasting project to replace the legacy system that tracked and segmented the sold products within their warrantee period. The effort included implementing a new big data analytics platform to help business forecasters and planners run thousands of time-series data sets, and used several forecasting models simultaneously to choose the best-performing one. The solution made it possible to analyze myriad transactions from business operations at a granular level. Before, this intensive analysis for forecasting wasn't possible without adding additional headcount. In addition, processing more data became 24-times faster than the previous solution, and has saved an estimated $100 million over five years in non-resource costs.
