Project Description:
Adobe Systems Inc. utilizes its Hadoop platform to transform data into insights, and drive targeted cloud marketing campaigns with product usage and clickstream analytics. This self-service, multi-tenant environment is where the company deploys new functionality with agility and speed. But it was a challenge to test functionalities with multiple business units on the same platform. However, there was no solution on the market that met the test requirements of a typical Hadoop ecosystem. So Adobe decided to build one in-house. The result: the Hadoop Test Factory (HTF), an end-to-end platform to test the business use cases in a Hadoop environment leveraging different services of the big data ecosystem, e.g., Pig, Hive, Sqoop, Oozie, Hue ,etc. HTF provides a one-stop shop for the business and development communities to onboard their testing and validation use cases. HTF delivers consistent customer experience by simulating the validations necessary at each step of the data transformation and providing downstream alerts and visibility to test results. It solves a "needle in a haystack" problem by bringing the failures to the forefront.
