2017 Winner Profile

KeyBank

Project Description:
As with many large companies, KeyBank found that application delivery became more complex over time, with slow manual testing, quarterly release cycles and outages resulting in poor mean time to resolution. In addition, the company's web app had also grown more expensive to maintain and to meet service level agreements. So KeyBank embarked on a digital channel modernization project to migrate its 15-year old Java web app to a more modern web experience, and to create a new mobile web app. To help meet its goals, KeyBank's DevOps team decided to implement a container-based application platform, seeking to decrease complexity by isolating applications from the underlying infrastructure and helping development teams get to work with minimal configuration and management time. KeyBank is a great example of an organization using containers to modernize its IT organization while introducing new digital services and applications to its customers. The project is considered a huge success within KeyBank, which plans to spread its DevOps teams to other projects to help scale the practice across the organization.
