Project Description:
Supporting its mission to reimagine TV and put the consumer at the center, Turner launched FilmStruck, its first direct-to-consumer project. FilmStruck is a domestic subscription video-on-demand service that features the largest streaming library of contemporary and classic art house, indie, foreign and cult films along with extensive bonus content, filmmaker interviews and rare footage. FilmStruck is available on Amazon Fire TV, the web, iOS, Android, Apple TV devices and Google Chromecast. The technological deployment of FilmStruck was a massive, company-wide effort coordinating with internal and external teams across four continents and eight countries as well as with dozens of partners. The FilmStruck technology platform was designed and developed within 11 months. Currently, 1,500 titles are available for viewing on a variety of devices at any given time. The FilmStruck service has a high retention rate and most FilmStruck subscribers choose to subscribe to Turner's premium tier. Turner is rapidly expanding FilmStruck onto additional platforms, such as gaming consoles.
