2018 Winner Profile

Cushman & Wakefield

Project Description:
The commercial real estate services industry recognizes the opportunities that artificial intelligence, data analytics, robotic process automation, blockchain and other new technology can provide. But the prospects are diffuse, and ROI can be slow and uncertain. To deal with these challenges, Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) works with business leaders to choose meaningful opportunities, experiment to determine which have the fastest ROI, and teams up with those leaders to minimize research and development costs. The company call this "proof-of-concept-as-a-service (POCaaS). The three key elements of the POCaaS program are internal engagement, external partnerships and a process designed to preserve momentum around important projects. Through this program, C&W taps its professionals in business and technology for internal IP and thought leadership, and accelerates their ideas by pairing them with outside innovators such as startups, universities, startup accelerators and early-stage vendors. The POCaaS process makes C&W more effective, and allows the company to expand capabilities fast. New technology partners help C&W enter previously unprofitable markets and drive new revenue.
