2018 Winner Profile

Project Description:
As a result of regulatory, competitor and industry conditions and HSBC's 10 strategic actions announced in June 2015, it was critical for the bank to transform and adapt. HSBC's IT Transformation (ITT), therefore, has been about changing a traditional, backoffice function into one that partners closely with the business to deliver products quicker, better and faster to benefit its customers. It has changed the mindset and structure of IT into something resembling a Silicon Valley software company that is fast, agile and highly responsive to customer needs and deploys the best technology. The ITT has created an IT organization where each HSBC global business and function has a CIO who is solely accountable for the delivery of IT services, change programs and production. The new technology has helped HSBC achieve its strategic goals and driven significant increases in delivery rates to the business, giving customers simpler, better and faster banking. The IT architecture transformation has also simplified the architecture infrastructure and enabled HBSC to reduce costs and deliver projects faster.
