2018 Winner Profile

Unisys

Project Description:
In 2017, Unisys embarked on a secure digital transformation journey that is changing its business for the better. This enormous undertaking is being accomplished through self-funding initiatives, which means money does not have to come out of the technology budget. IT, which is the new "accelerator" of cross-company collaboration, is increasing associate productivity through next-gen software-defined security services. The results are a more cost-effective, secure network and improved face of the company to the market. Unisys is now rapidly moving from an infrastructure of over 300 applications running on premise to a flexible cloud-based model. In 2018, for the first time ever, Unisys is taking action to cut software maintenance (upgrades, support, etc.) costs by at least 50 percent by moving to a less expensive third-party cloud provider. The digital transformation is also enabling positive culture change throughout the organization. For example, there is now better collaboration across the company because every associate is able to use Skype for video. And by expanding the bandwidth to support calls with hundreds of people, Unisys is improving training and teaming capabilities as well as reducing travel costs.
