Project Description:
With over 500GB of data produced per car during a Formula One race weekend, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport needed to be able to better process that information to ensure strategic choices are made to win the race. The data is now used to continuously innovate better car designs, improve agility in adapting to race conditions, and determine the best car setup for each race. By analyzing the data in real time, Mercedes-AMG Petronas can detect patterns of symptom failures or increased efficiency, as well as understand how external factors (weather, competition, traffic, safety cars) can affect race results. The team can also build models using visualizations, predictive analytics and AI that give the team the best strategy to safely improve their performance.
